Full Professor of Economic Sociology. He has published several books and scientific articles on topics such as welfare, social vulnerability, and long-term care policies. He has served as a consultant for the Ministry of Social Affairs, INPS (National Social Security Institute), the Lombardy Region, and many other institutions. He was a visiting scholar at the University of California – Berkeley, the University of Barcelona, the University of Lausanne, and Harvard University. His current research focuses on the following topics: middle-class insecurity, social investment policies, long-term care policies, school segregation and inequalities.
